Our Inspiration

Some of my fondest memories as a child were when my mom & grandma took me to a little Hungarian corner store in East Toledo called the "National Bakery". I can still hear the slam of the wooden screen door and the ringing bell that announced a customer.  

I have so many great memories of the Hungarian ladies who made the amazing confections, the glass jars full of candy, and endless baskets of freshly baked bread. The smell of fresh bread definitely fueled my love of cooking & baking, as did the way both my mom and grandma cooked with passion. Making food for others is not just a task; it is truly our love language.
